End Plan Colombia! Stop U.S. Support of the Colombian Government's War Threats!
Statement by the Colombia Action Network

The Colombia Action Network is outraged at the Colombian army's air assault and raid on March 1st into Ecuador. The Colombian government justifies it's actions by stating they acted in "self-defense". However, we see this for what it is, an escalation of Colombia's civil war, a violation of Ecuador's sovereignty, a threat of war against Venezuela and other neighboring countries, and a further attack on the rights the people of Latin America.

March on the RNC: Stop the war on Iraq! End Plan Colombia!

The people of Colombia, like the people of Iraq, need us in the streets protesting at the Republican Convention. We need to stop the U.S. sponsored war in their country, to stop spending working peoples tax dollars to prop up a corrupt narco-trafficking regime. The American public is increasingly aware of the U.S. atrocities in Iraq and becoming more adamantly anti-war. This public outrage will manifest itself at the RNC. We have an opportunity to educate the 100,000 plus people who will come to St. Paul, MN to demonstrate at the RNC about how the U.S.' effort in Iraq is not the only example of this country's quest for empire causing death and destruction.

Drummond and the US have Blood on their Hands! Stop Plan Colombia!

In northwestern Colombia in 2001, the president and vice president of the mining union Sintramienergetica were taken off a Drummond bus and shot to death by paramilitary death squads hired by the corporation. Later that year, paramilitaries also killed the new president. These men were all killed during negotiations with Drummond.

Call Congress – Stop U.S. Aid to Colombia!

Statement from the Colombia Action Network

There is a growing debate in Congress concerning Plan Colombia. There needs to be an end to US military aid to Colombia. The almost 5 billion dollars the US has sent in military aid since 2000 has had horrendous results in Colombia. It has paid for military and para-military human rights abuses including massacres, disappearances, kidnapping, and threats of social justice and labor activists and their families.

Join the Colombia Action Network at the School of the Americas Demonstration!

Help us shut down the School of the Americas (SOA) this November! The SOA is a U.S. tax payer funded combat training school for Latin American soldiers, located at Fort Benning, Georgia. Frequently called the "School of Assassins," its graduates have left a trail of terror and suffering in every country where its graduates have returned.
